Privacy Policy
Mercier Prototype Watch Co LLC (“we”, “us”) runs mercierprototype.com. This policy explains what happens to your information when you browse the site, join our list, leave a review, or place an order. Last updated 22 August 2026.
What we collect
- When you order. Your name, email, phone number, shipping address and order contents. Payment is taken on Shopify's hosted checkout — card numbers are handled by Shopify and its payment processors and never reach our servers.
- When you join the Inner Circle. Your email address, so we can send you new-release and restock email.
- When you submit a review. Your name, email, city and state, star rating, review text and any photos you attach. Your email is used only to verify that the review is genuine — it is never published and never shared.
- When you email or call us. Whatever you choose to tell us, kept so we can help you.
- Automatically, as you browse. Standard analytics and advertising data: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and cookie or similar identifiers.
Who processes it with us
We keep the list short and name every one:
- Shopify — hosted checkout, payment processing and order fulfilment.
- Netlify — website hosting, form submissions and review storage.
- Klaviyo — email marketing and the Inner Circle list.
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads — traffic measurement and advertising performance.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta pixel, for advertising performance and audiences.
- Google Workspace — our email.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors above.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The site sets cookies and similar identifiers for Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and the Meta pixel. These let us see which pages and ads bring people to the watches, and let us show ads to people who have visited the site. You can opt out at the source: Google Analytics opt-out, Google Ad Settings, and your Meta ad preferences inside Facebook or Instagram. Most browsers also let you block or clear cookies, and we honour a Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one.
Marketing email
We only email you if you asked us to, or if you have ordered from us. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Order and shipping confirmations are transactional and are sent regardless.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years because tax and warranty obligations require it — every Mercier carries a five-year warranty tied to its serial number. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Review submissions are kept while the review is published; rejected submissions are discarded.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. If you are in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, and we will never treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email Devin@mercierprototype.com. It reaches the founder directly. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security & changes
The site is served over HTTPS and our processors are established providers with their own security programmes. No system is perfect, so if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you. If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
